MoU between Mission Olympics Wing of Indian Army and Guru Nanak Dev University

Amritsar : With a key motive towards winning the medals for Country in forthcoming Olympics, the Memorandum of Understanding was signed here today in the presence of Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Jaspal Singh Sandhu and Brigadier Dinesh Sharma, Brigadier Sports, Mission Olympics Wing Indian Army.
Earlier, a high level delegation led by Brigadier Dinesh Sharma, Colonel Amanpreet Singh Gill, Lt. Col. P. Vinod Kumar and Col. Vikram Jamwal visited Guru Nanak Dev University today. On this occasion, Brigadier Dinesh Sharma also interacted with university Faculty members and sports coaches.
The Vice-Chancellor said that the MOU, will facilitate the Educational Progression of volunteer outstanding sportsperson of Army Boys Sport Company who are 17 years and above by getting them enrolled in various educational esteems in university.
This will also give them chance to play in inter collegiate and inter university competitions till the time they get properly enrolled in Army. Brigadier Dinesh Sharma said that we are committed to work towards establishing long lasting synergy to ensure success of this pilot project.
In a statement, Dr. Preet Mohinder Singh Bedi, Dean Students Welfare, said that under this partnership, GNDU will completely compensate expenditure incurred on admission fee, hostel fee etc. to enrolled B.Sc. Sports Cadets.
Dr. Kanwar Mandeep Singh, Director Sports signed the MOU with the Brigadier Dinesh Sharma. Dr. K.S. Kahlon, Registrar gave a vote of thanks to the esteemed delegates of Indian Army. Dr. Palwinder Singh, Controller of Examination and Dr. Amandeep Singh, HOD, Department of Physical Education were also present.
