Ashmah International School celebrated Baisakhi with pomp and show in traditional manner

Mohali : The Baisakhi festival was celebrated with religious fervour at Ashmah International School Sector 70 Mohali. The entire school was tastefully decorated with Charts, Buntings made by the students and the Saffron Flags. The staff and the students were dressed tastefully for the occasion.
The students of the school presented a colourful cultural program highlighting the important day. The program started with the Shabad Shubh Karman te tab hu na darru. This was followed by speeches by the students on the historical importance of Baisakhi Day which is the beginning of harvesting season symbolizing prosperity of Punjab.
A stage show was enacted related to B. R. Ambedkar , the chairman of the Drafting Committee.Later, students attired in traditional dresses also went in nearby fields and performed Bhangra ,the performance of the students was so impressive that farmers who were working in nearby fields started dancing with them and enjoyed the moments
The Director J S Kesar explained to the students the importance of the day. He explained how the tenth Guru of Sikhs Guru Gobind Singh Ji created Khalsa Panth at Shri Anandpur Sahib to fight injustice and to protect the weaker sections from the atrocities then the tyrant rulers. Director Kesar motivated the students to follow the path of truth and moral values. The programme concluded with Bhagra a celebration which is symbol of Baisakhi, the harvest season.
